From sandy deserts to the Great Wall of China, this film by Lotte Reiniger and Carl Koch, entirely made with cut paper, seems to come straight out of a Tales of the Thousand and One Nights story. Dating from 1926, this animated feature is the oldest animated film that cinema history has preserved. Alongside the traditional instruments of the symphony orchestra, Oriental percussion and the Oud add exotic colors to Gilles Alonzo's magnificent score. An epic and mischievous tale to the rhythm of melodies from across the world.
