Artist Coun is taking over Palais Lascaris! Discover his world through this exhibition. The exhibition Coun. Libera l’Art at Palais Lascaris reflects a desire to bring the baroque splendor and popular soul of Nice into conversation. Since 2024, the artist Coun. has been supporting Palais Lascaris in an image-based mediation initiative. Trained as a designer, this illustrator with a bold line has mastered the codes of the venue to create the museum’s various educational booklets. His work does more than illustrate: with clarity and modern sensitivity, it translates the abundance of mythological ceilings and the discipline of baroque architecture. With Libera l’Art, the artist takes a new step forward. His aesthetic, rooted in the pared-back clarity of design, enriched by Niçois popular culture and his sharp humor, creates a striking contrast with the Palace’s ornamentation. By freeing the line, Coun. also frees the way we look at the collections, clearly conveying the richness of the Palace’s ceilings and decor. Coun. thus transforms history into a visual language accessible to everyone, making the museum a place for play and discovery. This exhibition is an invitation to rediscover Palais Lascaris through a fresh eye, proving that heritage is living material, constantly reinvented by the talent of those who look at it.
