On the occasion of the Festival Dreams of Children, the Korean Cultural Center presents a concert by Lydie Solomon, a Franco-Korean pianist, who takes children on a melodic journey between France and Korea. A prodigy spotted at the age of two while playing Beethoven by ear, Lydie Solomon performs Fantasy No. 3 in D minor and Variations on the nursery rhyme "Ah! Vous dirai-je, maman" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in French and then in Korean. The concert continues with the tale of Sim Cheong, the virtuous daughter, one of the five stories of pansori (the art of Korean sung storytelling), where Sim Cheong, a devoted young girl, sacrifices herself by throwing herself into the sea to restore her blind father's sight, before miraculously being reborn as a queen and reuniting with him at a banquet for the blind. Dive into the world of traditional Korean music and French classical music, reinterpreted by Lydie Solomon.
