Librarians will read you kamishibaï stories on Wednesday, April 29 at 4:00 PM in the story cabin - for ages 4 and up, registration required
The Batignolles library offers a selection of kamishibaï stories. But what is a kamishibaï? Kamishibaï translates to "paper theater." Originating from Japan, this storytelling technique involves sliding images in a small wooden theater (butaï). The audience only sees the illustrations while the narrator reads the texts written behind each one. The images follow the rhythm of the narration, the show begins, and the magic of the story unfolds!
