As part of the exhibition « Métamorphoses, les chapeaux de Maison Michel », Galerie du 19M partners with Souffle Collectif to present MOIRE, an unprecedented performance featuring Panamanian artist Ana Elena Tejera and violinist Sylvain Rabourdin, accompanied by guest musicians.

The program features a concept resonating with the exhibition Métamorphoses, les chapeaux de Maison Michel. MOIRE explores spinning, repetition, and the forms these movements create. Present in numerous dances and ritual practices, notably in the Sufi tradition of whirling dervishes, circular movement can transform the experience of time and open other states of consciousness. Ana Elena Tejera's spinning engages in dialogue with live music composed of patterns, pulsations, and repetitions. MOIRE investigates what covers, protects, reveals, and transforms the body, like a hat does: it shifts the silhouette, extends gestures, and brings new presences into view. Through movement, sound, and matter, the performance creates a body in constant transformation. Appearances, circulations, and disappearances succeed one another, tracing the stages of a metamorphosis.
