Singer-songwriter Carla de Coignac writes authentic songs in French, carefully choosing every word to strike a chord. Born in Paris and raised between Cahors and Toulon in a family of music lovers, she found refuge in writing from an early age. Profoundly affected by the loss of her mother during adolescence, she developed an intimate body of work exploring grief, love, and healing. After gaining public recognition as a contestant on Nouvelle Star, she initially chose to remain behind the scenes, writing for other artists, including Louane and Mika. She later established her distinctive voice on social media through a song-rewriting concept followed by several hundred thousand people. Her deeply moving French rendition of Another Love became the track Peur de l’amour, amassing more than 3 million streams and millions of views. In 2025, she released her debut EP, Confession, a musical extension of her deeply personal writing. Several tracks were performed on Star Academy, confirming her growing resonance with audiences. Both on stage and in her lyrics, Carla de Coignac explores the contradictions of the heart with raw honesty: loving, doubting, falling apart, and getting back up.
