3 PM THE CHALLAT OF TUNIS, a film by Kaouther Ben Hania starring Jallel Dridi, Mohamed Slim Bouchiha, Moufida Dridi and Narimène Saidane. TUNISIA – 2014 – 1 hr 30 min – original version with French subtitles. Tunis, before the revolution. In the city, a rumor is circulating: a man on a motorbike, armed with a razor, is slashing the buttocks of women unlucky enough to cross his path. They call him the Challat, “the slasher.” A local news item? Political manipulation? From one neighborhood to the next, people joke about it or worry about it, believe it or not. Because everyone is talking about it... except that no one has ever seen him. Ten years later, against the backdrop of the post-revolution era, tongues are loosened. A young filmmaker decides to investigate to solve the mystery of the Challat of Tunis. Her weapons: humor, mockery, persistence. 5 PM A TALE OF LOVE AND DESIRE, a film by Leyla Bouzid starring Sami Outalbali, Zbeida Belhajamor, Diong-Kéba Tacu and Aurélia Petit.
