SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 → JAMAICAN AIRLINES → MINANOH + AFRICAZ + RUFFLION 9 PM–2 AM / FREE (REGGAE/SKA/WORLD MUSIC) Food available on-site 7 PM–11 PM Sets start at 9 PM MINANOH Minanoh has performed with the Holy Night Sound (Lille) and Lone Danger (Paris) sound systems. He has also been a member of several groups and supported by various backing bands. Today, Minanoh performs with Africa, selecta Abandi and his collection of dubplates, vinyl records and collectors’ items. The tracks he performs come from his various projects: one 7-inch single, four EPs, two self-produced freetapes, and his latest album, Soundman Bizz (2023), created with the support of the Chic Parisien label. Minanoh is a reggae activist and singer who has been performing on stages across cities throughout France for over 25 years. Africaz began as a reggae and dancehall radio show broadcast on Radio Comores. GWADADEM soon joined as a host and MC, before the team expanded to include BIONIK, ABANDI and DIAMBAR, with the mission of getting crowds moving at venues including Espace Masséna and Divan du Monde between 1995 and 1997. L.A, Minanoh, Pablo Master, Edgar Rebel, Lieutenant Malo, Jason Cat, Svan, Miss Elssa and LGM then took turns performing as MCs at various events and venues. Africaz is coming to Lille for the first time to introduce us to selections ranging from Roots to Dancehall Listen on: RUFFLION Rufflion has been active since the early 2000s and exists to promote Jamaican music in all its forms: ska, early reggae, roots or boogle… With a particular fondness for the sound of the ’80s.
