Since 2022, the International Competition of Great Voices of Opera in Africa reveals and supports young opera singers from the African continent and its diaspora. Serving as both a career springboard and a celebration of diversity, it has already brought forth voices that major opera houses are now competing to book. The Montpellier National Opera Orchestra invites you to discover and applaud two talented performers under the direction of conductor Sebastián Almánzar—artists whose careers are just beginning: Laurynn Favières, a 26-year-old soprano from Guadeloupe and 2026 laureate, rewarded last March in Paris by a jury chaired by Philippe Jaroussky, and tenor Vanhels Djoko, 2025 winner. Duration: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with no intermission. Admission: €12
Event from the official Montpellier calendar; venue: Office de Tourisme Montpellier; address: Opéra Comédie, 34000, Montpellier.
