Are you between 18 and 70 years old? A blood drive will be held at the Town Hall of the 11th District

Your next blood donation at the Town Hall of the 11th - A blood drive will be organized in the reception hall at the Town Hall of the 11th on Friday, October 23 from 2 pm to 7 pm. Book an appointment Blood Donation: How Does It Work? It's the most common form of donation, simple, quick, and useful to the greatest number of people. Blood donation allows us to collect all blood components at once: red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, which are then separated, with the patient receiving only the blood product(s) they need. Before your visit () Your online self-assessment Quick and practical, our online test allows you to verify in less than 5 minutes before making the trip that you meet the main conditions to donate blood. This test will be completed during the pre-donation interview conducted on-site by trained staff. Your appointment Would you like to donate blood near your home or workplace? In just a few clicks, find the nearest location and book a time slot to donate blood and save lives near you. Your preparation on the day Feeling good? Perfect, you're ready to donate blood! Have a good breakfast or balanced lunch before coming. Stay hydrated: drink water or fruit juices. Avoid alcoholic beverages in the hours before donation. During your appointment () Personalized welcome (8-10 minutes) Upon arrival, our team welcomes you and checks your ID. The pre-donation questionnaire is then given to you. Your medical interview (5-6 minutes) This is a privileged moment of exchange between a doctor or nurse and you. This confidential interview allows us to ensure your safety and that of the people who will receive the blood products from your donation. If there are any contraindications to your donation, the conversation continues! Our team explains why it's not possible this time. Don't worry, in 90% of cases, you'll be able to come back and donate soon. Donation (8-10 minutes) Blood donation is performed in a lying position and under supervision. The volume collected is adapted to each person: it varies between 420 and 480 ml, depending on the donor's weight and height. A friendly moment at the A+ break (20 minutes) To leave on the right foot, take time to enjoy our refreshments for at least 20 minutes in the company of other donors and volunteers and to relax under the watchful eye of our medical team. Note: Although blood volume is quickly restored after a collection, do not engage in intense physical activity in the hours following donation. After donation () If, up to 15 days after your visit, you experience fever or any other sign of infection, contact us immediately by phone. This follow-up is important for your safety and that of the recipient. Some dietary advice To recover well after a blood donation, be sure to consume foods rich in iron such as lentils, peas, beans, seafood, etc.
