On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Musée des Égouts de Paris invites the public to experience Halloween differently, just a few meters beneath the capital. As night falls, three guided tours will offer a glimpse of a little-known world that blends heritage, urban history, and a mysterious atmosphere.
Discovering Paris from a different angle Beneath the quays, squares, and grand boulevards, Paris maintains an exceptional underground network. A true technical feat and a witness to the city’s history, the sewer network has contributed to the capital’s sanitation, operations, and modernity since the 19th century. For Halloween, the evening opening offers an unusual opportunity to explore these galleries in an atmosphere that is both fascinating and slightly mysterious. Three guided evening tours The special Halloween evening opening will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, with three guided tour time slots: - 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Over the course of a tour lasting about an hour, visitors will discover the history of Paris’s sanitation network, the daily lives of the women and men who maintain it, and the wildlife that inhabits these underground spaces.
