Temporary increase in mileage allowances for public servants Published on June 3, 2026 - Service Public / Legal and Administrative Information Directorate (Prime Minister)
To offset rising fuel prices, the mileage allowance scale applicable to State staff travel has been temporarily increased by 3.2% as of June 1, 2026.

An order dated May 29, 2026, temporarily increases the rates of mileage allowances applicable to temporary travel by State personnel, undertaken between June 1 and December 31, 2026 .
The increase amounts to 3.2%, equivalent to aid of approximately €0.20 per liter of fuel.
This measure aims to increase compensation for agents using their personal vehicles for work purposes, specified the Ministry of Action and Public Accounts. AESH (support staff for students with disabilities) and substitute teachers are among the beneficiaries. Hospital staff are also covered (an order is to be published).
This provision comes amid various government aids implemented for "high-mileage" workers and for businesses.
The increased rates are determined based on the location of the travel, the distance traveled, and the type and power of the vehicle.
