This platform, created by the Ministry of the Interior, aims to reduce the number of road accidents involving heavy vehicles or vehicles driven as part of a mission for transporting goods or passengers.
As a reminder, the employer can request at any time that the employee driver prove that they still hold a valid driving license.
It is also possible to include in a clause of the employment contract and/or in the internal regulations:
-
a periodic verification of the driving license;
-
the obligation to immediately inform the employer of any suspension or withdrawal of the driving license.
The employer cannot access information regarding the number of points held by the employee driver.
How to Request a Consultation?
To receive the desired information regarding the validity of the employee driver’s license via the Vérif Permis platform, you must follow these steps:
-
register your company as a legal representative or agent;
-
subscribe to a plan allowing unlimited consultations of the national driving license database (40 euros excluding tax per year), regardless of the size of your company;
-
add the company's drivers;
-
request the verification of the drivers.
Until April 1, 2026, the date of the pricing change, you can still purchase a token for 0.95 euros excluding tax that allows you to perform a single consultation.
Features of the Vérif Permis Portal
The Vérif Permis portal allows the employer to receive a reliable and secure verification certificate of the driving license. This includes:
-
the identity of the driving license holder;
-
the driving license number;
-
the validity status of the driving license: valid, invalid, or suspended;
-
the category of the license;
-
if applicable, any restrictive conditions (e.g., requirement to wear glasses while driving);
-
the date and time of issuance of the certificate.
The data in the certificate comes from the National Driving License System (SNPC). The information provided only pertains to French driving licenses. They cannot be used outside of the professional context.
The certificate takes this form:

The employer must inform, by any means, the employee of their right to obtain a certificate of deletion at the end of their contract. This certificate will prevent any future consultation of their driving license by their former employer.
