2026 income tax: get an estimate of the amount you will pay Published on March 12, 2026 - Service Public / Direction de l'information légale et administrative (Premier ministre)

Starting April 9, you will be able to access the online service on the tax website to file your income tax return for 2025. You must file this return even if you received little income (or no income).

You can already use the official 2026 income tax calculation simulator for 2025 income, to get an indication of the amount of your tax and your reference taxable income. This simulator takes into account the new income brackets, each of which corresponds to a different tax rate.

The simulator can only be used if you live in France .

You can use:

  • the simplified version of the simulator, if you only need to declare wages or retirement pensions, for example, and you deduct the most common expenses (child support payments, childcare costs, donations to charities and public-interest organizations, etc.);

  • the full version of the simulator, if you also need to declare income from commercial, self-employed or agricultural activity, investments in the overseas departments and regions, overall deficits, etc.

The deadline for submitting your income tax return varies depending on your department and whether you file it online or on a paper form. The tax authorities will soon publish the schedule with the various deadlines.
