As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) compliance efforts and ahead of World Environment Day (June 5), the Nos Gestes Climat website, developed by ADEME, allows users to calculate their individual climate footprint for free. In France, the average carbon footprint currently stands at more than 9.1 tonnes of CO₂ per person per year. The target for 2050 is set at 2 tonnes of CO₂. This goal fits within a broader context where companies' non-financial issues are gaining prominence.
Consequently, every company may be subject to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) obligations. Since limiting environmental impact and driving the ecological transition is everyone's responsibility, reducing the carbon footprint is a priority.
A simulator to determine your carbon footprint
The Nos Gestes Climat calculator tool helps you understand your carbon footprint after answering a series of questions about your lifestyle and habits (housing, food, transport, etc.).
You can then discover your footprint and identify actions to take to reduce it. To date, more than 3 million assessments have been completed.
The Nos Gestes Climat simulator is an effective way to raise awareness in a professional setting because it is:
More than 85% of people who calculated their carbon footprint say they learned something new and now wish to change their practices.
Raise awareness in your company and among your clients
With Nos Gestes Climat, ADEME offers you a free, simple, and reliable tool to share with your employees and clients to help them assess and reduce their carbon footprints.
To do this, simply create an "organization account" directly. This feature allows you to obtain the average carbon footprint of all respondents (overall and by emission category) while respecting confidentiality.
Additionally, a demonstration webinar is available to show you how to easily integrate the test into your initiatives, thereby strengthening your CSR approach.
Test your knowledge with the Carbon Quiz
ADEME also raises awareness among businesses via the Impact CO2 website. It notably offers a Carbon Quiz to help users better understand the environmental impact of their daily activities.
