The vaccination schedule sets out the vaccinations applicable to people living in France according to their age. Following the opinion of the Haute Autorité de santé (HAS), it issues general and specific recommendations for particular situations (increased risks of complications, exposure or transmission) or occupational exposures.

The 2026 vaccination schedule has just been made public by the Ministry of Health. It may be updated depending on vaccination-related developments.

Main new features of the 2026 vaccination schedule

Seasonal flu vaccination For people aged 65 and over , it is now recommended to use enhanced-dose vaccines or adjuvanted vaccines as a priority. Standard-dose vaccines remain possible.

For children aged 6 to 23 months who are at risk of severe flu , flu vaccination is possible.

Vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) infections Catch-up vaccination has been expanded:

  • to young women and young men who were not vaccinated during adolescence;

  • up to and including age 26.

Vaccination against pneumococcal infections Vaccination is now recommended for all people aged 65 and over, using a single-dose schedule.

For at-risk adults from age 18 , vaccination is also based on a single-dose schedule.

Covid‑19 vaccination A vaccine not based on messenger RNA technology may be used for people aged 12 and over who are at risk of severe disease .

For pregnant women , messenger RNA vaccines remain preferred.

Vaccination recommendations for people living with HIV The 2026 schedule introduces specific vaccination recommendations for people living with HIV, concerning:

  • pregnant women;

Vaccination against invasive meningococcal infections For all children born after January 1 , 2023 , the following become mandatory:

  • vaccination against group ACWY meningococci;

  • vaccination against group B meningococcus.

Catch-up vaccination is planned:

  • for young children aged 2 to 4 inclusive,

  • including those who have already received vaccination against group C meningococcus.

For children born on or after January 1 , 2023 , this catch-up vaccination is mandatory only if they were not vaccinated according to the schedule before age 2 .

New regulatory measures The 2026 Social Security Financing Act introduces mandatory immunization against measles for professionals and students in the health and medico-social sectors, as well as for early childhood professionals, when they begin training or start work.

The list of professionals concerned, as well as the implementation procedures, will be specified later by regulation.

Reminder of mandatory vaccines

The electronic vaccination record, included in the digital health space " Mon espace santé ", makes it possible to review vaccinations already received and find out the next scheduled deadlines according to age.

To simplify users’ vaccination pathway and improve vaccination coverage, nurses, pharmacists and midwives can prescribe vaccines and vaccinate people aged 11 and over.
