Landlords
A scheme to support you in renting out your property Published on June 10, 2026 - Service Public / Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
If you own a property that you wish to rent out, the 'Louer pour l'emploi' scheme allows you, in particular, to find a salaried tenant and benefit from a guarantee regarding rent payment. The scheme has recently evolved. Among the new features: the possibility of receiving a grant of up to €1,000 to carry out work in the property you are renting out.

The 'Louer pour l'emploi' scheme is offered by Action Logement; it is accessible to all landlords, whether individuals or legal entities (social housing organizations and mixed-economy companies for the construction and management of social housing are excluded from the scheme).
To be eligible, your property must be located in metropolitan France or in an overseas department and region (DROM).
The scheme has recently evolved. Now, 'Louer pour l'emploi' allows you to benefit from the following services:
-
free and personalized advice for setting up your rental project;
-
a proposal from Action Logement of a candidate tenant who is an employee;
-
the VISALE guarantee, which covers the risks of unpaid rent and tenant damage throughout the duration of the tenant's occupancy;
-
a grant of up to €1,000 for carrying out work (including energy diagnostics), for owners directly managing the rental of their property; or a grant of up to €1,000 for paying letting fees, for landlords delegating the management of their property to a real estate professional (only one grant possible per year during the contract period, except for furnished rentals where the grant can be requested 3 times a year);
-
a loan at a favorable rate for improvement or adaptation work on your property, or for energy renovation work.
To benefit from the scheme, you must fill out a form on the Action Logement website. You will then be contacted by a 'Louer pour l'Emploi' scheme expert to assess your situation.
The aids and loans offered are subject to conditions and granted subject to approval by Action Logement Services.
You can discover all the terms of the 'Louer pour l'emploi' scheme on the Action Logement website.
Owners benefiting from the 'Louer pour l'emploi' scheme must, in particular, commit to respecting a controlled rent level, defined according to the private rental market price, the type of housing, and its location.
