Brevet and Baccalauréat 2026: Exams cancelled in the Middle East and Mali Published on May 13, 2026 - Service Public / Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister's Office)

In light of the geopolitical situation, the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs have just announced special arrangements for organizing end-of-year exams.

The measure applies to the following countries:

  • Near and Middle East: Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar;

National Brevet Diploma (DNB) The DNB exams scheduled for June are cancelled in these countries.

Candidates enrolled in an accredited French school abroad, and candidates registered in a regulated class with the National Centre for Distance Education (Cned), will be awarded their annual average in the relevant subjects. The oral exam is cancelled, or neutralized if it has already taken place.

Candidates under individual status may sit for the replacement session in September 2026.

General and Technological Baccalauréat Candidates enrolled in an accredited French school abroad or registered in a regulated class with the Cned

For these candidates, the average grade recorded in the school report card will be taken into account for:

  • the early French exams (written and oral) taken in the penultimate year (Première);

  • the early mathematics exam (in the penultimate year, Première);

  • specialty exams (final year, Terminale);

  • the philosophy exam (final year, Terminale).

Candidates are exempt from the Grand Oral.

Candidates under individual status

These candidates may sit for the replacement session in September 2026.

Additional adjustments may be implemented if it is determined that regulatory conditions for holding exams are not met in other countries.
