Unemployment Benefits: No Increase on July 1st Published on July 1, 2026 - Service Public / Direction of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
On June 30, the Unédic board was to decide on a potential increase in unemployment benefits on July 1, 2026. Service Public explains what the amounts will remain, as there will be no increase.

As stated in the July 26, 2019 decree regarding the unemployment insurance system, the Unédic board can increase a portion or the entirety of unemployment benefits.
On June 30, 2026, the Unédic board, bringing together representative organizations of employees and employers, did not achieve a majority in favor of an increase in unemployment benefits, as was the case in 2016. The amounts from July 1, 2025, therefore remain in effect:
-
Minimum amount of the employment assistance allowance (ARE): 32.13 € per day, and 16.05 € per day for Mayotte.
-
Fixed part of the ARE: 13.18 € per day indemnized.
-
End-of-benefit aid: 355.86 € (27 times the fixed part).
-
Minimum employment assistance allowance for training (AREF): 22.99 € per day (11.51 € per day for Mayotte).
-
Floor related to the application of the reduction coefficient: daily allowance of 92.57 €.
