New Year's Day = Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Easter Monday = Monday, April 6, 2026.

Labor Day = Friday, May 1, 2026.

Victory 1945 = Friday, May 8, 2026.

Ascension = Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Whit Monday = Monday, May 25, 2026.

National Day = Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Assumption = Saturday, August 15, 2026.

All Saints' Day = Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Armistice 1918 = Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

Christmas Day = Friday, December 25, 2026.

Public holidays can be non-working or worked and paid under conditions that vary depending on the days concerned (May 1 or others). In some cases, they also allow for a bridge.

May 1

May 1 is the only day that must be non-working for all employees, with work only being scheduled on that day in certain establishments and services (hospitals, public transport...) where work cannot be interrupted due to the nature of the activity.

Other Public Holidays

Other public holidays may exist in a region, locality, or in certain sectors of activity. This is the case, for example, in Alsace and Moselle, which also benefit from Good Friday and December 26.

Bridges

The employer may also grant a bridge to employees, particularly between 1 or 2 days of weekly rest and a public holiday. The hours lost due to the bridge can be recovered, with employees being required to make up the lost working hours on another day.
