New rates for stamps and packages Published July 28, 2026 - Service Public / Legal and Administrative Information Department (Prime Minister)
Starting January 1, 2027, prices for mail and packages will increase by 6.73% on average. These rate adjustments were announced by La Poste in a press release on July 27, 2026. Service Public informs you.
Add to my calendar La Poste is implementing rate adjustments to its universal postal service (one collection and distribution guaranteed six days a week across the entire country) effective January 1, 2027.
This development is part of the multi-year rate framework decided by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications, Posts and Press Distribution (Arcep). It is intended to "ensure the sustainability of the universal postal service with high quality in a context of continuous decline in mail volume".
The average overall increase starting in 2027 is 6.73%.

Rates for Colissimo packages sent by individuals will increase by an average of 4.1% in 2027, for all destinations (France and international).
The red stamp, which allowed priority shipping in J+1, was discontinued on January 1, 2023. It was replaced by e-red letter, a digital service that allows you to send urgent mail, printed and distributed by La Poste the next day.
You can print your stamps at home with MonTimbrenLigne. This service offers a discount based on the weight of your shipment.
In 2026, a household spends less than 27 € on annual postal expenses; this budget is expected to decrease by 8.7% in 2027.
