Businesses Affected by Fires: Exceptional Aid Put in Place Published August 17, 2026 - Service Public Entrepreneurship / Department of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister's Office)
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that were subject to evacuation or containment measures and suffered consequences as a result of fires can benefit from exceptional aid put in place by a decree of August 14. This aid comes following the various fires that have affected France in recent months. Service Public Entrepreneurship provides an overview for you.

This exceptional aid aims to support employers by covering the partial activity benefits paid to employees in order to cope with activity suspensions linked to the disasters. It is granted to companies with fewer than 250 employees:

having partial activity authorization covering all or part of a period between July 20 and August 30, 2026;

having suffered a disaster, bad weather, or any other exceptional circumstance as a result of a fire;

being located in an area subject to an evacuation or containment measure.
The amount of aid received by the employer will equal the difference between the partial activity benefit paid to the employee and the allowance paid to the employer. This means that the State will fully reimburse the employer for the benefits paid to employees for the period from July 20 to August 30, 2026.
This aid concerns certain municipalities in the following departments: Gironde, Var and Landes.
